How does it work?
You merely place a toll free telephone call from anywhere in the state to reach the information center in Columbus. Then just follow the instructions you hear over the phone. You may call at any time of day, every day of the week!
What information can you hear?
Newspapers from large and small cities from all over Ohio, Radio Reading Service updates, TV schedules and other publications.
Who is eligible?
Any Radio Reading Service (RRS) or Talking Book subscriber is eligible. If you do not use these services but have trouble seeing or handling printed materials, contact the nearest Radio Reading Service for assistance.
How do you subscribe?
Contact the nearest RRS or eTech Ohio for an Ohio Telephone Reader application form. Reading service contact information is availabe elsewhere on this web site (click here for contact information). Then, simply complete the OTR application and return it to the address listed on the form. Or, use the online application located here.
What happens next?
Your personal security and identification numbers will be sent to you. They will give you access to the OTR system. You will also receive a simple one-page list of helpful tips on using OTR. Braille or cassette instructions are available upon request.
